BRANDON WHEAT KINGS

During my one-month internship with the Brandon Wheat Kings as a Marketing and Public Relations Intern (November to December 2024), I gained valuable experience in multiple areas in the hockey world. I contributed to game day operations by helping create the game script and brainstorming ways to enhance the fan experience with the marketing team. In community relations, I visited local schools with players to distribute free tickets for the team’s annual teddy bear toss game. I also played a role in creating social media content, video editing, and graphic design, including designing a new intro video used for all games since December and a book mark series for the teams and TD Banks "Read To Succeed" program. I gathered and organized key information to prepare media kits for scouts and suite owners, including game notes, lineups, rosters, and league stats.

TD Bank x BWK 'Read to succeed' bookmark series

I designed a bookmark for the TD Bank "Read to Succeed" program in collaboration with the Brandon Wheat Kings, which encourages young students to develop strong reading habits. The bookmark was created to be fun and engaging, and handed out at schools by the players.

Game Day Media Kit

I created the game day media kits for both the December 6th and 7th games, compiling game notes, stats, head-to-head matchups, season stats, head to head stats and all-time matchups between teams. These media kits provided a preview to the game and all the needed information for media and suite owners.

Excel Lineup sheets

I created the game lineup sheets in Excel for suite owners and media, ensuring all essential player information was easily accessible including rosters, player scratches, and starting lineups for each game. 

'Did ya knows' scoreboard graphics

I created 'did ya know' graphics for every Wheat King player to be played on the scoreboard during TV timeouts.
